Luxman PD-272 Direct Drive Turntable
The Luxman PD-272 is a beautiful, minimalist direct-drive turntable crafted during the golden era of Japanese audio engineering. Famous for its ultra-low profile design and clean aesthetics, the PD-272 stands out from other vintage decks due to its factory-fitted, high-end Micro Seiki straight tonearm.
It offers smooth, precise, and completely manual playback for pure vinyl enthusiasts.
This gorgeous unit has been fully inspected, serviced, and detailed in our Auckland workshop. It will be outfitted with a brand-new cartridge and a brand-new clear dust cover to protect your deck for decades to come.
So why buy it?
Legendary Micro Seiki Tonearm: Unlike standard vintage decks, the PD-272 features a precision-engineered, straight low-mass tonearm built by Micro Seiki. It is highly rigid, eliminating arm resonances and ensuring your cartridge tracks with incredible detail and accuracy.
Brand New Audio-Technica AT-VM95C: Fitted with a brand-new VM95 series moving magnet (MM) cartridge. It delivers a clean, wonderfully balanced sound with exceptional tracking. It also offers a brilliant upgrade path - the stylus can easily be swapped later for an elliptical (EN), microlinear (ML), or Shibata (SH) needle without changing the entire cartridge body.
Slotless DC Servo Direct Drive: Powered by a brushless and slotless DC servo motor that eliminates electromagnetic "cogging" or unevenness of rotation. Combined with a high-inertia 1.8kg die-cast aluminum platter, it provides exceptionally quiet and stable speed rotation.
Independent Speed Pitch Controls: Features individual pitch adjustments for both 33 and 45 RPM speeds, letting you fine-tune the playback perfectly to a precise lock.
Brand New Custom Dust Cover: We have fitted this deck with a brand-new, crystal-clear acrylic dust cover, giving the turntable a stunning modern presentation on your hifi rack.
Honest Cosmetic Condition: The plinth looks spectacular and holds its gorgeous vintage character beautifully. There are just two small, minor dings located at the very rear of the chassis near the tonearm base, which do not affect operation in any way.
Fully Serviced by Turntable Guy: Professionally calibrated, lubrication-checked, and dialed in so you can plug it straight into your phono stage and enjoy flawless analog sound.
